The Fruitcake Blues.

Tonight, my little family did a Christmas program at the local care center, and then we ended up taking a spontaneous drive around the city. We sang carols at the top of our lungs. Sam began improvising some blues-riff about fruitcake. (He is hilarious, by the way. He was coming up with the funniest verses!) Before long, a chorus developed. Then the kids decided they wanted to take turns making up verses to the fruitcake song. It was awesome. I really enjoyed hearing what the kids were coming up with on the fly.

It's been a busy season, and I've had a lot of mixed feelings (mostly good ones). Tonight has definitely been the highlight.
