Thanksgiving at the Brasher's
On Tuesday, we headed out to Boise for the holidays and it was a blast! Doug and Ali welcomed 12 family members into their home for three days and didn't seem to be at all stressed out by all the ruckus (and believe me, we provided plenty of it). We had such a nice time, thank you Doug and Ali!

Some highlights in no particular order
- Treadmill challenge: For some, this was fun. For others, it led to near death experiences. Video footage is up and coming....stay tuned, you DON'T want to miss it!
- Movies (more than you'd guess in two days time).
- Cooking.
- Playing and listening to music (three guitars, one mandolin, a harmonica, lots of singers and lots of fun!)
- Baking.
- Gingerbread houses (quickly made and more quickly devoured)
- Games. Including; the "Fun Aunt Valerie entertains the kids and keeps them out of the kitchen game" and the "Try and hit the wall with the ball" game (I'm not sure what this game entails exactly, you'd have to ask the big boys. All I know, is Sam insists that he cleaned every body's clock--of course he invented the game, so...)
- A constantly swept floor, thanks to the crumb-sucker vacuum thingy that everybody enjoyed using!
- Grammy and Grandpa taking all the grandkids to Baja Fresh without the parents. (They are two of the bravest people I know).
- Grammy and Grandpa jumping on the trampoline with the kids out in the freezing cold. (Again, see what I mean?)
- Kids dancing to a cranked up "You Give Love a Bad Name" at the crack of dawn every morning.
- Watching home videos and realizing, once again, that time just flies by so fast.
- More peeling, chopping and endless food prep...
- A perfect Thanksgiving feast. Perfect, because everything was beautiful and delicious, and because the company was ideal. I am so thankful to have married into this amazing family! And while I missed my other families, I am grateful to Alison and Doug (and kids) for providing this memorable experience. It was more than celebrating Thanksgiving day. It was like a whole Thanksgiving vacation.
