Wednesday's Whetting...

===-===-===-===-===

At first, I thought my challenge should be to come up with a better name than "Wednesday's Whetting" (how dumb is this name). But I really don't want to have to pretend to be more clever than I am capable... So instead... This week's challenge:

I will wake up at 5:30 am EVERYDAY at least until next Thursday (except Sunday- I'll wake up by 6:30 on Sunday).

You'll know if I did, because I'll log in each morning.

WHY THIS CHALLENGE?

1. I'M TIRED OF BEING LAST TO GREET THE DAY:
You see, I am the last person to drag my heinie out of the sack every day. I persist in staying under my covers until the last possible minute. This is a lot worse in the winter. (It's cold you know!) It's not that I dislike mornings, I just have an unhealthy attachment to my bed.

2. EFFICIENCY
Shouting orders from my horizontal throne does very little to encourage my little ones to stay on task when it comes to dressing for school.

3. INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES
My kids have been begging to walk to school. But it's not exactly in our neighborhood. The walk itself takes 45 minutes one way (including an occasional stop at a friends house, so Ada can take a potty break). Sure, it's hard to motivate myself to prep for a 70 minute stroll in 20 degree weather - but in all honesty, I love walking with my kids. I've finished hounding them to find their shoes or brush their teeth and I have some time to just chat with my cutie-pies.

Other opportunities include; going to a spinning class then coming home & getting showered/dressed before school (that would be SA-WEEET)... not leaving the kitchen in a shambles when we race out the door, some quiet time to read, fold laundry, do some yoga...whatever!

4. I DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT ON THE MAGIC
The morning is a magical time of day. Twilight is simply awesome. The hours are longest and most productive in the morning. It's just too bad it comes so dang early.
