Today I Woke Up To Friday,

Thinking about plans for my weekend.
Thinking about the HUGE pile of laundry I need to fold and how much cleaning I have to do today.

And because I'm spoiled by living in such sickening profligacy (which I daily take for granted),  I almost forgot.

Today many others woke up to heavy, dark grief.  Aching for a lost loved one.  Many others woke this morning to an anniversary that changed their lives forever.

My heart goes out to them today.

And with all it's flaws, I am glad to live where I live.  USA is my home and today I feel a great desire to do better, to live in a way that helps make my home a better place to live.   I refuse to be apathetic about this country.  I refuse to forget how much has been given to me.  And I intend to keep hope and faith in this country and even (gulp) our elected leaders.

Those who lost their lives, and their loved ones, and those who sacrificed so much on this day, eight years ago...it wasn't for nothing.
