Certain relatives of mine always ask me the same question whenever we reconnect;
"So, what goal are you working on now?"
Yes, yes. I'm always aspiring toward something. My aspirations are almost as numberless as the stars, and like the constellations, they seem to change within the hours that pass.
Aspire is the perfect word to use, because it doesn't seem to indicate anything other than pointing an idea towards a lofty goal. "Setting one's sights"- if you will. Action is not implied at all in this word which is why it is perfect for me. I rarely (okay, almost never) follow through. Does that stop me from dreaming? Of course not! How can I possibly deny my nature?
Today at the library (as it often happens at the library), I renewed an old aspiration:
As I stood there in the 'Languages' isle, I could just picture myself becoming fluent and smooth. Rolling my r's in such a way as to fool even the keenest of Spanish ears into thinking I am a native. And then, Russian. And German. Madarin...etc. After a year or so, when I've single handedly taught my family to posess polylingual super powers - we become a family of secret spies and save the world.
ANYway...
I checked out a bunch of stuff that proposes fluency in approximately 30 days - or less. Perfect!
Or, ¡Perfecto!
At the end of the month, when the CDs are due, please don't be surprised if my Spanish Skills are almost "nulo". (Oh, you won't?) It won't be a total waste, I'm bound to learn something. For instance, just by attempting to blog in Spanish, I have recently learned how to do this on my keyboard:

Boo.Yeah!
FACT: Did you know that the word nombre means name - and not number? Even though that totally doesn't sound right. Fascinating stuff, I tell you.

I guess that answered his question.
I only post this so that you'll at least be impressed with my "aspiraciónes" even if nothing comes of them. That's what blogs are for, right? To obtain validation or adulation (the ultimate) -no matter how meager the offering - from Someone, Somewhere? No? Yes?

Que maravillo! Me encantaria hablar contigo en espanol. Necesito practicar!! Creo que vayas a cumplir esta meta! Y, por que no en 30 dias? Te amo!
i haven't been to your blog for a while. it is so, so, cute. I love your header!
this is something i just love about you. you are always improving and working towards something. i admire you for this. and . . . give yourself some credit, you accomplish much!!
I wish I possessed some sort of gift of motivation, where I could at least convince my hubby to teach me French... that turd taught himself spanish out of a High School Spanish Book and then just all the sudden knew it.
I just love you. That's it because my aspiration and dream is the play the piano well. And I don't and I could but I should actually try! I want to play Debussy some day, Clair de Lune to be specific. Some day...
