CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE: DAY THREE

Today I made a small gift for myself.

 It's a goal chart!

Not just any goal chart... It's a 'paint by numbers' type of goal chart, except I'll use shiny stars to fill in the color.  Why have I not ever thought of this before? How fun it will be to color-up this chart!

Don't let my expression fool you, I love this sort of thing.

Okay, okay, so it's just a  dinky drawing on a piece of paper.  I kind of just threw it together.  But it serves a good purpose.  You see, whenever I am super busy and especially during the holidays,  I seem to throw some key things out the window:
  • Nutritious food
  • Exercise
  • Music (study/practice)
  • Personal scripture study

So, my goal is to fill out this little tree chart with stickers.   By New Year's I want to have my chart covered in stars (25 days worth for each goal).  If I can do this, it will be the first time ever going through the holidays in a healthy way.   Or any month, for that matter.  Ha.

Silly?  Perhaps.  Worthwhile?  Absolutely.  I think that my holiday experience will be so much richer by making time for these things.

I earn a star when I:

  • Have a green drink that day to up my fruits and veggies intake.  (green star)
  • Exercise 20 minutes, so doable. (red star)
  • Music practice, 20 minutes. (blue star)
  • Spend personal time in the scriptures each day, family reading doesn't count. (gold star)

A gift to me, everyday, if I see it through.  I've never done that before.  Nor have I ever made a Christmas tree goal chart.

There it is.  It is only the third day of December, and I'm already having a blast with this challenge.   Truly!

[off to make a green smoothie drink, thing.]

That is a great idea! I might march myself to Office Max in the snow to get myself some stickers to make a chart for myself. You're coming up with so many good "firsts".

If I could make the font like size 100, I would, and it would say: THAT IS SO COOL!!!!!!!! And, being the sister with the same goal issues, I'm completely copying you! That is the funnest, cutest goal chart I've ever seen!!!!! yeah! I'm having a blast with your challenge, too!! I love you! I can't wait to see you!

You're so awesome! I gave myself stickers every time I practiced guitar. I haven't practiced in awhile, but it was very motivating when it was important to me to do it more regularly.
