Can't Get Enough

BASEBALL.

Spring 2010:  Jack and Ed get to be on the same team.  They had a blast (when they weren't fighting)...

* I love watching my boys play. I anticipated it would be a chore, but it's not.   It is truly fun for me.
* I wish I had gotten a picture of Jack up to bat.

Jack wanted to sign up, but there weren't enough 9 year old kids to make up a team. So, Eddie's coach picked him up.  He looked tiny compared to the 11 and 12 year old players.

Homerun Derby July 4, 2010:
* I love this tradition
* It is always HOT
* I swear every year that I'm going to go to the batting cages so that the NEXT year I'll be able to knock one out of the park...but I never do (go to the batting cages).

My favorite action shot of the day;  Sam and Lizzie

Baseball 2011:  We almost missed the boat this year.  I completely missed the registration dates and teams filled up fast.  It looked like the boys wouldn't be playing.  Grandpa Jerry is an umpire for some youth leagues (older than Eddie's) and was able to find a team in his age group that lost a player at the last minute.  They could squeeze Eddie in, hooray!  It's nowhere near our neighborhood, but as I watch him play, improve and love every minute of it, I know it's worth the commute (and time and gas money).

Sam (in the purple) is in heaven.  He loves going to these games.  Eddie is number 8, behind him.

The shadows cover his face, but he sure is cute in his uniform

Eddie really didn't want me to put this picture up.  Can you see why?

*Jack?  He was a little bummed out, but also very much relieved.  So it was okay.
* Feels more like a winter sport this year. I have yet to go to a game and not wear a coat.
*We have had as many or more games and practices canceled, than played--due to the endless precipitation.
* Eddie ended up again with great coaches.   He has really been lucky.
* They are a good team and nice boys.
