Jackie...

I'm going to be taking a little break from the computer, for at least two days (I'm out of control).... I will probably check in to post Wednesday's challenge before I head out to Idaho for Thanksgiving.

But before I take my break, I noticed that I haven't been posting about little Jackie. And if I want to honestly represent what's going on in my life, I've got to include this sweet boy. After all, he is a strong presence around here. Some notes about our Jackie-boy.

  • He's requesting that I no longer refer to him as Jackie. This is because he has a girl named Jackie in his class and suddenly, the name is no longer acceptable for a boy. (No word yet on the approval of 'Jackie-Boy').
  • The above photo shows what Jack has been doing every spare minute. He's perusing the 'Toys R Us' catalog with complete relish. Each page is circled and marked. He knows the price of everything. The pages are worn and wrinkled. Well, except for the pink section in the middle. His anticipation for vacations and holidays is super intense. And fun.
  • He's determined to have a loose tooth-or at least convince us that he has one. Watching your twin sister get a visit from the tooth fairy 4 times over can be very aggravating...
  • I have heard, several times, from different people (uncles, teachers, etc) That when Jackie opens his mouth- they stop and listen, because it's bound to be suprisingly smart, or utterly hilarious or both.
  • He still wakes up at around 5:30am EVERY morning. (But hey, who wouldn't be excited to start their day when they have a toy catalog to research?)
  • He's still my cuddlebug. Jack still blows repeated kisses to me when I drop him off at school. I know it won't last so I'm cherishing each one...

i need to take notes like this on each of my kids - what a great idea, they are always changing so much and it's so easy to forget the cute simple stuff.

I can personally vouch for the smart, hilarious stuff that comes out of that kids mouth. He's an observer of the world!
