Because I like you and because I'm a good sport - and because I choose to believe I am not the same girl I was - I will play along with this tag. Who knows, maybe this will be therapeutic for me? Or at least make others, by comparison, feel so much better about themselves.
:HIGH SCHOOL TAG:
1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes.
2. What kind of car did you drive? My dad owned a dealership at the time, so I changed cars every few months or so. I remember driving; a Geo Prism (crapcar), various colors of Jeep Cherokees (got pulled over out of suspicion a few times with these), Geo Tracker, Pontiac Grand Am (surprisingly sweet car), Pontiac somethingelse, um...that's all I can remember. When I turned 18 I got my own car (I know, SPOILED). It was a periwinkle Eagle Summit, and the MOST AWESOME CAR EVER!!!
3. What was the most embarrassing moment of HS? Grades 10-12. I remember being a completely hyper idiot on several different occasions...I can remember the looks on people's faces. It makes me feel stupid to recall it. Boy I love this tag.
4. Were you a party animal? If you consider "locking yourself in your room like a hermit until your 11 year old neighbor comes over and asks if you will play basketball with him, and you do"- being a party animal, then yes, yes I was.
5. Were you considered a flirt? Did you read the answer to #4? No. I was smiley and friendly and quite charming, if I did NOT have the hots for you. If I did, I was completely backward and idiotic.
6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir.
7. Were you a nerd? Yes. But not in the smart way like Ann. I lacked self-confidence in social situations (though I did have a handful of really great friends)- in that way I was a nerd. And I took myself WAAAAAAY too seriously.
8. Were you on any varsity teams? Negatory. (A word I heard a lot in high school).
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Almost-- In my last semester of school I had an average of 37 tardies in each class, and I almost didn't graduate. I was only on time 5 days in my first period class. I lucked out though. I had knee surgery my senior year (last semester) and when I went hobbling in to speak to the counselor, crutches and all, I gained instant sympathy and all tardies were excused. I didn't mention that I'd only had the crutches for a week.
10. Can you still sing the fight song? Da-Nanana Da-nanana SKYLINE! Da-nanana Da-nanana SKY....
11. Who were your favorite teachers? My honors Physics teacher (Davis?). I had NO business taking that class and he knew it. But I passed, because I had a nice smile (honestly, he said that!) And finally Mr. James Miller - my choir teacher.
12. Where did you sit during lunch? Sophomore year; My locker, by myself. Junior year; (I had a friend!) we ate outside and scoped out the boys we liked. Senior year; I went home every day and ate lunch there, by myself.
13. School mascot? Go Eagles!
14. Did you go to homecoming, and with who? 10th - Nobody 11th - Rob Stosich, 12th -I was sending off a missionary at the time, I don't think I went.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Taking into consideration the ulcer that is forming just by answering these questions, I think my answer would have to be NO.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? I liked my dress, I couldn't wait for it to be over with and I was leaving for Lake Powell the next day, so I was thinking mostly about that. I couldn't WAIT to get out of there.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? I was vacationing at Lake Powell. My awesome Madrigal friends got a yearbook for me and passed it around for people to sign. What awesome people. I wouldn't have one otherwise. They were a cool group. I was an ingrate and a lousy friend, you know it?
18. Were you in any clubs? No.
19. Have you gained some weight since then? Gained and lost, then gained and so on... ;). I'm close to my high school weight right now (for better or worse). And I think it varied in high school. I never knew my weight in high school. I don't like this question.
20. Who was your prom date? 10th - didn't go, 11th - SAM CARTER I loved that boy (still do)! 12th - Stephen Bullock (a fun date!) Anthony Scharrier asked me too, even though he knew I'd already been asked, just to make me feel good. What a guy!
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? It's already passed (2005). I only regret missing out on the Madrigal reunion.
22. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? RELAX! Don't be afraid to ask questions, or look stupid. Like yourself enough to get dressed and try to look cute and put yourself out there a little. Oh, and if the basketball coach asks you to try out, then you're probably good enough to make the team. And PLEASE don't get in class debates over symbolism in novels you DIDN'T ACTUALLY READ (Come on, who did you think your were fooling?). And finally, RE.LAX. (Did I already say that?).
Okay, I'm going to go throw up now.
But first, I tag 5 people (Your Welcome): Amanda, Melissa Shepherd, Brittany (both), Melinda.

Melis...that was a lot funner to read than I guess it was to write! I sure had fun with you in HS! btw, the physics teacher is mr. hart. Sure love ya!
Ok...you are such a great writer. It surprised me how your feelings about things were what I felt in HS as well!! You crack me up!
Hilarious....and, by the way, I am feeling a little sick to my stomach as well. HS brings back SO many bad, weird, creepy memories that I am happy as can be to have moved on.
Thanks for making me laugh today!
Honors Physics was Hart. After all, you were in class to focus on remembering the fundamental principals of Newtonian mechanics, not the teacher's name, right?
Davis was Jr. High Spanish. He caught me with a water balloon full of vinegar during the last week of 9th grade. I told him some phony name, and then he walked me to the office with his vice-like grip on my puny arm. I new I was doubly busted because Dr. Laub, the disciplinarian knew me quite well. Davis had to either let go of the balloon or the puny 9th grader to open the office door. He chose correctly. The last memory I have of Davis is the office door closing behind him. He stood proud, balloon still in hand, imagining his prisoner standing behind him in utter remorse. Once again, I experienced the rapture of completely duping an adult intent on malevolence... That was Davis.
Bra-Vo Melissa. I liked the glimpse.
Melissa, Your answers to these questions remind me why I like you so much. You are so REAL! I adore you and hope to see you on Thursday. P.S. you were a doll in high school. I wished I had known you better.
The whole time I was reading this, I was laughing and also thinking "please don't tag me, please don't tag me."
I'm going to miss you on your break, but I'm also going to use your break as an excuse to put off this tag as long as possible :)
Love ya! Come back soon! Mel
Melissa, I'm so glad that you commented on my blog, so that I could hitch-hike onto yours. If you decide to come to Germany, you know you'll have to stay with us!--Heather
Hurry back Melissa. = )
Ok I am only doing this because I love you. Honestly, I hated high school. Should be fun...or not. Hey send me your email so I can add you... I went private. I know, I know.
Melissa,
So hear this; You are an amazing talent. You have the stuff that makes the "oo" in good work.
I love to hear your thoughts and watch you tackle this phase of existence we call now.
Dwell on the good, the positive and the productive and they all become magnetized to you.
Love to the second power,
Dad
