Last minute weekend excursions...
Our in-laws invited us to join them on an overnighter to fabulous Manti, Utah. A tiny, lovely little town which showcases a most lovely LDS temple.
My mother in law took most of these photos:
We stopped in Springville, Utah - explored an old drug store and then found some pretty good mexican food;
We then enjoyed an evening of Yahtzee at the May Cottage (a darling little place where Cristie and Jerry stayed):
Sam and I were treated to a most lovely room at the Manti Inn. Each room is named after old LDS prophets who were known to stay there while visiting Manti. Our room is called the Heber J. Grant room. The window looks out at the temple. I loved laying in bed at night and seeing the soft white glow of that beautiful edifice on the hill. It was most lovely.
This hotel is old, quaint, and so very Utah Pioneer-esque (you'd probably have to live here to know what I mean).
I only had my phone camera and it was dark, so the pictures don't do this darling room justice. And the bed? THE MOST COMFORTABLE bed I have ever slept on.

The next morning we visited the Manti temple. It was most lovely.
On our way back home, we made frequent stops, discovering an amazing place to eat called Rodgers (I will be back) and even an old, hidden cemetery in Indianola, where we discovered some of Sam's ancestors.
Sam and I keep talking about how much fun this trip was. I often feel so lucky to have married into such a wonderful family. I loved spending time with them and I can't wait to do this again!

looks like this was such a treat in many ways. maybe next time we'll be able to join you:)
How neat! Never thought a trip to Manti could be so much fun. Love the old hotel room and the drug store. Aren't those the small things that make a fun vacation. We stopped at the Red Barn in Santaquin on the way to St. George and it was awesome.
